Small Group Ministry is a key part of everything we do at Forest Grove Church. On any given evening, small groups gather in the homes of our members to enjoy a time of Bible study, sharing, fellowship and support.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children. MOPS also encourages and supports mom through resources such as books, a Web site, the daily MOMSense Radio program, and the MOPS Mom Connection. MOPS club meets on Fridays at Noon with free-play in our new playground for the children.
All women in the church are invited to participate in our Presbyterian Women association. The women meet regularly for Bible study, fellowship, and service to the church and community. They actively support several missions in the Philadelphia area. Small groups meet monthly for study and fellowship. Three general meetings are held in October, December, and March. A prayer chain has been organized for members and friends requesting prayer for any needs and concerns, as well as joys. A small group of women meets every Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary for praise and prayer. New members (women or men) are always welcome to join this group.
All men in the church are invited to participate in Bob's Boys (Men's Breakfast Group) every second Saturday of the month at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Breakfast is usually followed by a short presentation and discussion or occasionally a field trip to a spot of interest. Contact Ed Daniels at 215-598-3257 to join!
The ministry of the Deacons is primarily focused on the physical needs, both church and community. This confidential ministry provides to the needy; assists family following illness or accident, and gives funeral assistance. Their caring ministry extends to the sick and shut-ins through visitation and distribution of flowers and meals. The work of the Deacons is made possible through financial donations and gifts of food and other items. Services of the Deacons are not charity, but rather the distribution of the gifts of God, given in the name of Jesus Christ.
